As the Director of Elementary Education, Maura is responsible for the maintaining and developing a positive atmosphere that promotes student engagement and achievement in our elementary community. She works directly with teachers, providing professional development and continuous exposure to best practices. She also works with members of the community to ensure collaboration promoting academic success for all students.
Maura moved to Jacksonville from New Jersey in 2017 and served as an Exceptional Student Education Teacher in St. Johns County. She joined Collage Day School in the fall of 2018 as Lead Learning Enrichment Achievement Program (LEAP) Teacher and Intervention Coordinator, monitoring all Prescriptive Education Plans and collaborating with parents and clinicians to increase the effectiveness of the Intervention Model.
Maura has spent the past decade studying and practicing in the field of education, earning two bachelor’s degrees from the College of New Jersey in Education and English. Subsequently, she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education, Language and Literacy and obtained Orton-Gillingham Teacher and Certified Dyslexia Therapist certifications. Currently, Maura is pursuing a second M.A. in educational leadership at the University of North Florida.
In her spare time, Maura enjoys cooking, singing and spending time outdoors.
